MMSC is moving out of Brigantine.
It's true. The Marine Mammal Stranding Center may be moving out of Brigantine. The lease runs out in five years and the city dose not want to renew it. The city has suggested that the Center buy the land it's setting on. To do that, the Center has to make a bid on the land. Builders are looking for waterfront property and this is prime. The builders will quickly outbid the Center. There's no way the Stranding Center can compete with these people. They want to build large waterfront houses on that property. Do we need that? The city no longer seem to want the Marine Mammal Stranding Center here. Is there a way we can save it? This organization has made Brigantine famous. Are we going to throw this away?

Brigantine is being overbuilt. Small houses are being torn down and larger more expensive homes sre being built. Most of the people who supported the MMSC years ago are leaving the island because of increase taxes. People moving in care little about Brigantine or what is being done to it. All they care about is their big boats and big houses. Brigantine will become just the bedroom of Atlantic City.
